Kristina Veasey

An integral part of the Great Britain wheelchair basketball squad for 10 years, Kristina is a two-time Paralympic athlete. She competed in both the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Paralympic Games. In addition to a bronze medal at European Championships, Kristina has since won two silver medals at World Cup. She retired from sport in 2008 becoming Amnesty International's Paralympic ambassador during the Beijing Games.

In 2012 she was selected as torchbearer, helping to carry the Paralympic flame from Stoke Mandeville to the Olympic Park. In the same year she managed to combine her love of sport with her work as an artist, earning her the London 2012 Inspire Mark for her project Beyond the Torch Run.

Kristina has over 15 years experience working with disabled people in a range of settings. She has worked as an independent trainer and consultant for 4 years. Her previous work included roles as advocate, participation worker, trainer and access advisor. Clients have included: East Sussex County Council, Sussex Police, Towner Gallery, occupational therapists, Chailey Heritage School, Treloars College, Department of Children, Schools and Families, Tourism South East, East Sussex Disability Association. Drawing on this and her Paralympic experience, she offers a unique perspective and approach to disability issues.
