Theresa Hodge

Theresa Hodge is founder and Managing Director of Disability Inclusion.  She has over 20 years experience of working in the disability field, in both paid and voluntary roles.  She has chaired two Disabled People’s User-Led Organisations - the Hastings and Rother Disability Forum, and the East Sussex Direct Payments Peer Support Network.

Theresa has worked in a number of administrative roles for the statutory and voluntary sector, and as a Development Worker for East Sussex Disability Association.  This role involved setting up and co-ordinating forums of disabled people discussing employment related issues, as well as researching the gaps in employment services for disabled people and their experiences of access to education.

Since 2004, Theresa has worked as an independent disability equality trainer and consultant, providing services to voluntary, statutory and private sector organisations. These include: disability equality training, research into the experiences of disabled people using public sector services, event organization, and transcription of material into accessible formats.

Having managed an East Sussex demonstrator site project to help local organizations working with disabled people and their carers to develop as user-led organisations, Theresa now manages a South-East based network of Disabled People’s User-Led Organisations which was set up in 2011 to enable members to communicate and learn from each other in order to build the capacity of user-led organisations around the South-East.
