Planning, Arranging and Managing Support

Whether you receive money from Social Services or the NHS to pay for your care and support, or you pay for it yourself, we can help you put together a Support Plan.  Your Support Plan is key to you getting the right support on a daily basis if you receive funding from Social Services or the NHS, so it's important to get it right at the start.  It outlines what is important to you, how you want your support to be delivered, and how you will spend your budget.  You might want to employ someone to support you with certain tasks, buy a piece of assistive equipment, attend particular activities to reduce isolation, attend therapy sessions or receive advice about your lifestyle and well-being.

If you need someone to help you at work to do the parts of your job you'd be unable to do because of your impairment, Jobcentre Plus can pay for support through the Access to Work scheme.  This can be for a Support Worker, assistive equipment, communication support, or travel to work / travel in work.  We can help you to find a Support Worker, source teh equipment you need or sort out travel arrangements.

WE can help you to plan how you will use your funding, find the services and support you need and manage your budget and support on a day-to-day basis.  This can include:

  • Information and options around how you can manage your budget
  • Advice on employing staff legally and acting as a good employer
  • Support to access appropriate payroll / managed account services
  • Identifying and negotiating fees and costs with providers on your behalf
  • Signposting to relevant services
  • Putting you in touch with Self-help / Peer Support Groups
